Conditions or Requirements for Setting Up a Linksys Extender
Here are the basic conditions and prerequisites for the Linksys Extender Setup:
Configuring a Linksys WiFi Extender
Here are some simple methods to set up and configure your Linksys WiFi Range extender.
As the first step, ensure that your Linksys Range extender is plugged into a power source. Insert the adapter into an outlet (such as a wall outlet) and the router or modem’s power cord into the adapter’s other end. Before proceeding, make sure that your Linksys Range extender is turned on.
Obtain Access to Linksys Extender Configuration Portal
We’ll show you how to get to the Linksys extender setup page next. There are two ways to access the setup page of your Linksys WiFi Extender.
By typing 192.168.XXX.XXX into your browser’s address bar and pressing enter or clicking “go,” you may directly retrieve your device’s IP address. If your internet connection is active, the standard username and password that comes with all of this brand’s products (username: admin; password: 12345678) will show immediately. Another option is to type http//extender.linksys.com into any web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and so on) and then press enter or the “go” button again.
Following the Linksys WiFi Range Extender’s connection to your computer and router, navigate to Your Setup Portal Homepage. You will have access to the Internet. Then, by pressing the login icon, you may visit your Linksys WiFi Range Extender’s webpage. This is where we will go from here.
Enter Your Username and Password in the Appropriate Fields
This is usually the username and password. Use the latest login information if you have changed it. Let us remind you that the default password and username are “admin”.
Enter “admin” without quotation marks as the username, followed by “admin” as the password.
If you see the message “This device is not supported by this system,” ignore it. If you encounter a warning like “Please contact your network administrator for assistance,” it signifies that your Linksys WiFi Extender is incompatible with your router’s WPA2-PSK security mode.
Continue With the Linksys Configuration
Using a paper clip or pen tip, press and hold the Reset button on the router’s rear panel for roughly 10 seconds; after 10 seconds, release the Reset button and press the Login button.
To proceed, you must now click the login button. When you get to the Linksys WiFi Range Extender webpage, select your network name from the list that appears. After selecting it, click the Connect button and wait for it to automatically create a connection with your router.
After completing the login process, you can proceed to the setup phase. Pay close attention to the on-screen setup instructions and follow them all the way through to complete the setup. If everything is done successfully, you should be able to join your specified network within 10 minutes.
