Linksys Velop Setup: Create A Mesh Network At Home

Download Linksys App

Take your smartphone to download the linksys app. Make sure your device has an active network to install the app. Now as per your device operating system open google play store or app store. Place The Velop Node

Now begin the Linksys Velop Setup with the placement of the primary node of the velop system. Your velop system contains 2 or more devices. Put the primary node closer to the router/ modem device with which you desire to supply the internet to the system. Next you have to put the other nodes. Keep them in the same room for the setup and later relocate them.

Connect Velop To Router/ Modem

Take an ethernet cable to connect the velop node to the router/ modem device. Inject the cable in both the devices. Make sure the cable is working and not damaged from anywhere. 

Power Up The Velop Node

Next step of the setup process is to power up the primary node. To power up the node you need to use its power adapter device. Connect it to the device and to the power source. Turn on the power and wait for the device LED to get stable. 

Connect Client Device To Velop

When the device starts you can initiate Linksys Velop Setup using your smartphone (use the same device in which you download linksys app). You can connect it using a wireless network. On your node standard network name and password is mentioned. Check it to connect via wireless settings in your smartphone.

Launch App & Create Account

Now you have to launch the linksys app. As the app opens, click on create an account option and proceed further. Mention the details as required to create an account. Submit the details and then proceed further to setup.

Configure Settings

Now you need to follow the screen and complete the significant configuration. Make changes in the network name and password. Then configure advanced settings. Update your device firmware and complete the configuration of the primary node.  

Add Additional Nodes

Moving further you need to add additional nodes to complete the Linksys Velop Setup. Now power up the secondary nodes one after the other and press the sync button on it to connect with the primary node. You have to start the third node after the addition of the second node to the network and so on. 

Finalize Setup

You have to finalize the setup by submitting the changes made by you. Also check for the firmware update of your other nodes. Update if running on outdated firmware.

Test Network

It’s time to test the network and relocate the additional nodes. You have to put the additional nodes to another location now. Plug them out and keep them in a new location. Just make sure the devices are kept within the range of the primary node.
